A historical view
The historical linkages of global health and international business are more interesting than we are led to believe. They are intertwined and they have evolved together for millenia. The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed some of these linkages, but there is a lot more to it.
Global health is IB and IB is global health.
A good example is the discovery of quinine, which led to the Berlin conference in 1884-1885. This subsequently opened the door for both trade and conquest of Africa in a massive way.
